Do Something!
As an organization of organizations -- academic institutions, non-profits, and corporations -- working to increase women's participation in IT, NCWIT does not offer individual memberships. However, we do have several recommendations for you if you seek a community of other women in IT or you're interested in helping to recruit and advance women in IT. Your voice is an important tool in raising awareness of women’s participation and getting people to change the way they think, teach, and work when it comes to gender and IT.
Get involved with NCWIT:
- Donate to the cause and help us accelerate our work.
- Volunteer with one of our partners.
- Join our Facebook Group and follow us on Twitter.
- Join one of our Alliances.
- Sign up for our newsletter.
- Use our Resources, like Outreach-in-a-Box or statistics about women and IT, to spread the message.
Or, find an affinity group for women, students, or technologists:
- Systers is an online technical community for women.
- WITI, or Women in Technology International, is a professional group for women that has local chapters.
- ACM and CRA both have women’s committees (and student chapters).
- WIT is based in Washington, D.C. and has 1,000 members.
- Girls in Tech is networking group with chapters in many major cities.
- AITP (Association for Information Technology Professionals) welcomes women.
